In January of 2002 Shannon Hathaway started Green Heron Landscaping, Inc. in Cary, North Carolina with one truck and one employee, foreman Jose Medina. Shannon's goal was to channel her passion and enthusiasm for residential landscaping into a livelihood that would bring value and pleasure to the customers her business served.  Her home landscape company has grown steadily while maintaining its small business focus on customer satisfaction and attention to detail.

One of Shannon’s additional goals was to provide a quality working experience for employees and this has become another distinguishing characteristic of Green Heron Landscaping.  From foreman Jose Medina, who has been a part of the company from the start, throughout the entire team, Green Heron Landscaping has become a true family environment with very little employee turnover.  This degree of consistency in design, installation and maintenance helps Green Heron Landscaping provide its customers with a degree of dependability and expertise that is often hard to find.
